BULLETIN 2
This is the final bulletin of the Third Tropical Workshop on
Particle Physics and Cosmology, which will be held in San Juan
during 19-23 August, 2002. The workshop is organized by the
Department of Physics of the University of Puerto Rico, and by the
Department of Physics and Astronomy and the Bartol Research
Institute of the University of Delaware, with the patronage of the
Arecibo Observatory. It is sponsored by the University of Puerto
Rico, with supplemental funds from the US Department of Energy
and the Arecibo Observatory. The scientific program will feature
several review talks as well as shorter specialized seminars, and
ample time for informal discussions and meetings under a relaxed
setting. The themes of the Workshop are Neutrinos, Branes and
Cosmology and the current list of speakers includes

Colleagues who are interested in participating should contact
one of the coordinators, whose email address, phone and fax numbers
are given at the end of this Bulletin.
There will be a registration fee of $300. The proceedings
of the workshop will be published by the American

Location
San Juan is the capital and cultural center of Puerto Rico. Old San Juan is a
fascinating city, with numerous historic sites, excellent beaches, and other
tourist attractions. The cultural life in the city, and especially around the
Condado area,
is fairly active and includes frequent concerts, plays, lectures,
and other events.
The Workshop will be held in the
Caribe Hilton Hotel,
which is centrally located between Old San Juan
and the Condado area of San Juan.
The major airport in San Juan is the Luis Munoz
Marin International Airport, located a few minutes
away from the Condado area. A taxi ride to the
Caribe Hilton hotel
is around $15.
Immigration and customs in Puerto Rico is governed and
controlled by the U.S. Immigration Laws, and therefore the travel
